Working Toward Solid Waste Reduction
and Good Environmental Practices

Nickel Bros was founded on the West Coast in 1956 by Henry and Richard Nickel, experienced structural movers from midwest. Today, the company is owned and operated by two of Henry’s four sons, and has five permanent locations within Washington State, British Columbia, and Alberta.

Because much of our work is outdoors, Nickel Bros is sensitive to the impact of industrial moving on our environment. That’s why we are committed to doing our part to protect and conserve our precious natural resources. Our residential home and historical structure recycling division has saved millions of trees and eliminated hundreds of thousands of tons of waste from landfills in our past 50 plus years of operation. Additionally, we have aggressive internal goals regarding the use of vegetable oil in the hydraulics for our jacking and moving equipment, a minimum 20% use of biodiesel fuel for our heavy haulers, the use of hybrid fuel for other vehicles in our fleet, and other initiatives which will help us become the most green industrial mover on the planet.

Health and Safety makes up the core of Nickel Bros’ culture. We protect employees via our strict “Safety in Motion” program, which specifies careful handling of hazardous materials and industry-leading safety procedures. We believe that a safe work environment is achieved through detailed planning, ongoing employee education, clear, concise communication, and careful execution. In addition to our health, safety and environmental programs we take great pride in open communication with our clients and the general public.

As one of the largest structural moving companies in the US Northwest and Canada, Nickel Bros has become the name to trust in the structural & industrial moving industry. From our engineered transporter platforms, to our specially constructed hydraulic dolly systems consisting of multiple hydraulic jacks and dollies controlled by a central control unit, Nickel Bros remains on the cutting edge of structural moving. We have been privileged to play a role in hundreds of high-profile move projects, including the Lions Gate Bridge replacement, the Dutch Castle, the Tuxeda Ship loader, and numerous industrial moves and historical buildings featured on the Discovery Channel, Home and Garden Television, and Monster Moves. Many of these structures are moved by water on barges, requiring very special equipment, skills, and insurance to accomplish.

Nickel Bros Core Values: Safety. Precision. Integrity.
